Hockey Assistants are energetic and motivated staff members with a strong interest in both hockey and working with children. They support campers during daily hockey sessions, both on the ice at the arena and during WellFit training back at camp.
Hockey Assistants work closely with the WellFit Instructor, Hockey Instructors, and other assistants to ensure campers are supervised, supported, and engaged throughout their program. Responsibilities include bus supervision, dressing room and lobby oversight, assisting the Head Hockey Instructor on ice by setting up pucks and pylons for drills, helping during WellFit sessions and providing support during Showcase games on Fridays and Saturdays.
Assistants are responsible for reinforcing safety standards, ensuring all campers use equipment properly, and following program-specific safety procedures. This includes providing care that reflects the standards and guidelines of HOC’s Child Care Practices and maintaining equipment and program areas in good condition for the next section.
