For the third straight summer we will take our top-caliber hockey instruction on the road, featuring best-in-class hockey development with our Head Hockey Instructor Josh Dixon (see bio below).
Our "City Hockey School" will offer two weeks of instruction in Oakville, ON at River Oaks Community Centre.

We will be offering TWO great programs this summer: Fundamental Skills Program and Contact & Compete Program.  See full program descriptions below.

City Hockey School Registration  - NOW OPEN!

Program offers 10 intensive hours of ice time, focusing on high tempo, multi-skill drills based on today's best practices.

Our instructors provide individual feedback and analysis to all players on fundamental skills refinement and next steps for development. Skills are reinforced and practiced throughout our dynamic ice sessions, keeping player's feet moving and optimal time with the puck on their stick.

Program Features Include:

  • 5 High Tempo, High Flow, High Repetition, Multi Skill Drills daily

  • Focus: skating, puck handling, passing, scoring, team play, conditioning

  • 4 on 4 scrimmage/fun game daily

  • Open to Co-Ed participants.

Program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of body contact, angling and puck protection as well as learning the basics of body checking in combination with small area competitive games.

Open to both male and female players, this is the ideal program for players to prepare for their first year of contact hockey or as a review of fundamental skills entering their second year of contact hockey, with a focus on proper execution and safety within a competitive environment.

Program Features Include:

  • The first hour of each daily session will teach the concepts and skills of body contact and puck protection while working in groups of 2 for optimal instruction, correction and repetition. Angling both in open ice and along the boards, along with puck separation and protection skills will also be focused on, preparing the player to be able to give and receive contact anywhere on the ice.
  • The second hour of each daily session will incorporate small area/space games in order to put the concepts taught and developed in the first session into game situations. Creating competitive, game-like situations will develop the players’ confidence to play with and against contact from opposing players while also heightening hockey IQ and awareness with and away from the puck.
  • Pairing players of comparable size and ability will be ensured through registration and by the instructors throughout the week.
  • Open to Co-Ed participants.
