We want to begin by thanking our families and campers for their patience and understanding through this difficult time.
It is with deep sadness that we share that Hockey Opportunity Camp will NOT be open for its 2020 camp season. As you will have heard this afternoon, the Government of Ontario announced that Overnight Summer Camps will remain closed for the 2020 season (Doug Ford’s May 19, 2020 Press Conference).
Our priority throughout this Covid 19 pandemic situation has been the health and safety of our campers, staff, and community and it is clear now that the province’s decision has been made to ensure this safety.
We are heartbroken for our campers and staff, knowing that they will not have the opportunity to enjoy a summer stay on the shores of Eagle Lake, not have an opportunity to enjoy the camp sports and activities they love, not have the opportunity for fun and development on the ice, and not have an opportunity to experience the joys and laughter of summer camp with friends and fellow campers/staff.
We know this is difficult news to bear for our entire camp community. We will be putting together some more details to answer some additional Q&A and resources for campers and families over the coming days.
We are grateful that you chose Hockey Opportunity Camp this summer and we look forward to having you join us in 2021.
