South River-Machar (SRM) Day Camp Instructors work throughout the day directly with local children who are bussed to camp. SRM Day Camp programming begins at 9:30 am and ends at 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Instructors are hired to teach Red Cross Swim Kids certified swimming lessons. They provide one on one instruction to campers and complete written evaluations for each camper. The Head Swim Instructor teaches classes and is responsible for supervising the Assistant Swim Instructor. Instructors also assist (where needed) SRM day camp instructors with daily / special day camp programming. Programming may include arts and crafts, overnight camping, theme/special days, low organizational games, land sports and water activities. However, Day Camp Instructors also work with HOC campers throughout the week during evening programs.
Instructors are responsible for teaching campers the safety requirements of each program ensuring that all participants use equipment properly and following safety standards. This includes providing care to our campers that reflects the standards and guidelines of the Hockey Opportunity Camp Code of Conduct. Instructors are expected to teach classes that are age appropriate, productive, and fun. This includes being prepared to teach in a variety of weather conditions ( Rainy day programs ). Each instructor is responsible for their program area and maintaining equipment in good order for next program period.

Wages: Summer wages vary depending on age, qualifications and experience of applicants. Room and board is included.
