Nurse Staff Job Description

Position: Nurse
Responsible To: Camp Director
Number of Positions: 8 (One per week)

Qualifications:

- Nurse applicants must have a current Ontario Nurse's Registration Card.
- Should have at least five years nursing experience
- Have a valid drivers license.

General Responsibilities:

- Ensure that campers and staff with specific medical needs are properly cared for.
- Handle first aid and medical problems as they arise.
- Assist with the general camp community as time permits.

Specific Responsibilities:

- Review all medical forms before registration day in order to discuss current and potential medical needs with parents.
- Provide appropriate staff (Directors, Kitchen, Hockey, Counsellors, Outdoor, Etc.) with special health needs information and directions.
- Maintain established policies and procedures for the infirmary.
- Administer medication to campers as required.
- Maintain a daily log of campers & staff who receive medical attention.
- Inform Camp Director when infirmary supplies need to be restocked.
- Learn emergency action plan for All Camp emergencies
- Make sure all medications are organized to hand out at check out.
- Keep the infirmary clean and orderly.
